19 Sunday: ABBAFab, an ABBA tribute band, is slated to perform at Spreckels Park on July 19 at 6 p.m. as part of Coronado Promenade Concerts’ summer series.
19 Sunday: On July 19, Coronado’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2422 will serve a picnic dinner of grilled chicken on a spring salad, with a croissant and chocolate chunk cookie.
20 Monday: Prepare for the SAT with Steve Reiss, owner of the Reiss SAT Seminars and the Math Magician, at the Coronado Public Library on July 20 at 6 p.m. Each workshop is two hours long and there are four sessions total. The following sessions are on July 23, July 27, and July 30. Attendance at all sessions is not required, but it is highly recommended for the best outcomes. Each session is unique. 22 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library’s Best of the Best Book Club meets regularly on the 4th Wednesday of each month to discuss books that have won major awards. For the July meeting, participants will read and discuss the winner of the 2022 National Book Award for Translated Literature, “Seven Empty Houses,” by Samanta Schweblin.
24 Friday: The Coronado Public Library will host a summer concert featuring Anthony Cullins, a guitarist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Fallbrook, California. Cullins’ musical influences include R&B, funk, soul, rock, jazz, and blues. The concert is at 1 p.m.
