The Coronado High School swim team kicked off the 2025 season with the Western League relays at La Jolla High School on March 4, and the boys’ team placed first in two events.
This particular meet had a unique set up — each regular event was swam as a relay by a group of four swimmers.
The Islanders had a strong start, finishing first in the boys 200 individual medley relay, with a come-from-behind victory by Luca Morocco in the final freestyle leg.
The boys also came in first in the boys 100 butterfly relay with an amazing finish by Gage Everitt.
The girls’ team finished second place in both the 200 individual medley relay and the wild card relay, both anchored by Chloe Quarles.
