18 Wednesday: The Coronado Island Film Festival classic film series presents a screening of “Christmas Vacation” at 5:30 p.m. at the Coronado Village Theatre. Tickets can be purchased at www.goelevent.com.

18 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

On Dec. 18, “The 39 Steps” is the featured film.

21 Saturday: The King’s Carolers, a group of professional singers, will perform classic Christmas carols, unique arrangements and modern favorites in the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library at 3 p.m.
