Most animals need friends to survive. We feel like we need companionship, protection, and someone to trust. Without a group of friends by your side, life can get really hard, really fast.

Even if you have the best group of friends in the world, though, you’ll always have one that shines above all the rest. For some, like this pair of bunnies, that person just happens to be your sister. Check out this video their mom posted on Tuesday, April 2nd of them being the sweetest sisters in the world:

Bella and Blondie are the best bunnies on TikTok, and I’m not afraid to say it! Look at them! What do you mean they’re not the cutest bunnies in the world?

Bella and Blondie are two Holland Lop bunnies that are living the good life with their mom. They’re just over a year old, and they were adopted at the same time, likely from the same litter. No matter what, they’ve spent this past year bonding and blowing up on TikTok: these girls have received over a million total likes, and they have about 60,000 loyal followers. They deserve them all!

Bella and Blondie are typical sisters, and their mom captures everything: the good, the bad, and the ugly. While the two of them do love to play and snuggle together, bunnies can be very territorial, and they do get into little fights over snacks, toys, and their mom’s homemade foraging bags! Like all bunnies, they show love to each other by:

  1. Grooming each other
  2. Licking (which is what Bella is doing)
  3. Sleeping close together

These little girls are in it for the long haul!

Should you adopt bunnies together?

Getting one pet is daunting as it is, but with some animals, you really should get two. Guinea pigs, for example, prefer to be housed in at least pairs, but the more the merrier. The same is true for bunnies: they prefer to be kept in pairs or groups. You should have at least two bunnies, but you can have larger groups of dozens of bunnies at a time. It all depends on the space you have in your home!

As far as adopting littermates, Littermate Syndrome is something that really only occurs in dogs. Cats, rodents, bunnies, and even farm animals have been known to be adopted together from birth with no issues. Though not all bunnies at a pet store will be part of the same litter, they’re kept together and may form the same types of bonds.

When you’re ready to adopt a pair of bunnies, talk to whoever tends to them. They’ll have a better idea of any bonded pairs they’re living with so you can be sure to keep them together, just like Bella and Blondie!
