Police and paramedics responded to a medical emergency on April 30. Staff photo by Madeline Yang.

An unresponsive adult male was found on a park bench in Coronado before police officers responded to the emergency.

At 1:45 p.m. today near the intersection of Park Place and Orange Avenue, an officer performed life-saving CPR until paramedics arrived.

The individual was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Victor Martin, who works at La Corriente, was interrupted by a bystander who rushed into the restaurant asking for someone to call 911. The man’s own 911 call had failed to connect so Martin dialed the police.
