Runners can follow the coast to the sound of live music when the Silver Strand Veterans Day Half Marathon, 10 Miler, 12K & 5K returns Sunday, Nov. 8.
Produced by KOZ Events, the race combines a flat coastal course with entertainment along the route and a beach party finish at Silver Strand State Beach.
The event takes place ahead of Veterans Day and offers four distances for runners and walkers: a half marathon of 13.1 miles, a 10 miler, a 12K of approximately 7.45 miles, and a 5K of approximately 3.1 miles.
The races start at Sunset Park in Coronado, with the longer routes taking participants along the Silver Strand corridor between the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay. The 5K starts and finishes at Silver Strand State Beach. All four distances share the state beach finish destination.
Race entry includes a choice of a Hawaiian button-up shirt or Hawaiian running dress, a custom finisher medal, chip timing and finish-line treats. Free return shuttle buses connect participants in the longer distances with designated Coronado parking and start-area locations; shuttle selections and parking details are available on the race website.
The event welcomes runners, walkers and adaptive athletes, including duo teams. Special registration categories offer discounted pricing for eligible military personnel, veterans and first responders.
Race information, course maps, parking and shuttle details are available at www.silverstrandhalf.com.
