30 Sunday: Coronado Promenade Concerts’ summer series continues with a performance by Desperado, an Eagles tribute band, in Spreckels Park on Aug. 30 at 5 p.m.
1 Tuesday: A local farmers’ market will be set up at the Coronado Ferry Landing from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 1, featuring fresh produce.
2 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The featured film on Sept. 2 is “Animal Crackers.”
4 Friday: The Coronado Public Library’s autumn concert series is scheduled to feature Eric Starr on brass with Hyemi Kwan on piano at 1 p.m. in the Winn Room. Doors open 15 minutes prior to the performance.
