5 Sunday: On July 5, Coronado’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2422 will serve a picnic dinner of a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw and a chocolate chunk cookie.

7 Tuesday: Learn brush calligraphy at a workshop hosted at the Coronado Public Library on July 7 at 5 p.m. Participants will learn how to write letterforms with brush pens. The program is for adults over the age of 18. Space is limited, and registration is recommended at coronado.librarycalendar.com.

8 Wednesday: Join the Coronado Public Library for an evening  of comedy and storytelling with Gus Constantellis, a Greek American stand-up comedian and writer known for his sharp, fast-paced humor inspired by his Brooklyn upbringing, family, and dating life. In this program, Constantellis will share stories from his debut book, “My Greek Mom’s Recipes: She Died,” a heartfelt and hilarious tribute to his larger-than-life mother. The event, at 6:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.

10 Friday: The Sweethearts of Swing, a trio of singers, will perform a summer concert at the Coronado Public Library at 1 p.m. on July 10.
