1 Wednesday: Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room.
Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The featured film on April 1 is “The Visitor.”
2 Thursday: Mitchel Beauchamp, the biological consultant for the Coronado wildflower booth at the Coronado Flower Show, is hosting a workshop in the Ruby Room of the Coronado Public Library at 6 p.m. Participants will learn how to identify wildflowers to help gather them for this year’s flower show.
5 Sunday: The Hotel del Coronado is hosting an Easter brunch in the Crown Room on April 5 from 10 to 3:30 p.m. Brunch will feature breakfast food, fresh seafood, sushi and sashimi. Tickets can be purchased at hoteldel.com.
5 Sunday: Resurrection Lutheran Church of Coronado is hosting an Easter sunrise service on the beach. Rev. Dr. Timothy Eichler, a retired U.S. Navy chaplain, will preside over the 6 a.m. service at the north end of Ocean Boulevard across from Sunset Park. Music will be provided by the Coronado Ukulele Club and Russ Peck. Attendees are encouraged to bring warm clothing and a beach chair or blanket.
