17 Saturday: The Coronado Democratic Club is hosting its first general meeting of 2026 on Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. in the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library. The featured speaker, Jeremy Addis-Mills, is the founder of Digital Impact!, a communications firm that helps organizations and individuals communicate more effectively online. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will also include the election of club officers for the year.

18 Sunday: The Coronado Ferry Landing is slated to host a free weekend concert on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. featuring Crimson Collar.

21 Wednesday: Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. 

Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The film on Jan. 21 is “The Last of Sheila.”

23 Friday: Community members can explore cooking with new spices each month with the Coronado Public Library’s “Spice it Up, Coronado” event. On Jan. 23 at 2:30 p.m., the group will be sampling cubeb. Register for the event at coronado.librarycalendar.com.

24 Saturday: KMAC Foundation for Accessible Sailing is starting its winter season on Jan. 24 at the Coronado Yacht Club at 11:30 a.m. Sailors and new volunteers are welcome. Visit kmacfoundation.com for more information.
