3 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room.Â
Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The featured film on Dec. 3 is “The Innocents.”
4 Thursday: Learn how to create beautiful designs on thin metal sheeting in this holiday card workshop taking place at the Coronado Public Library on Dec. 4 at 10:30 a.m. Card artist Sylvia Hwa will show participants how in this hands-on workshop. Space is limited, and registration is recommended at coronado.librarycalendar.com. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits. Â
5 Friday: The John D. Spreckels Center is scheduled to host a hands-on baking experience on Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. featuring festive seasonal treats. Participants will learn how to make a coffee crumble loaf, a biscoff cake and classic Mexican wedding cookies.
All ingredients and materials are provided, and each participant will take home a plate of freshly-baked cookies. Registration is required at least 48 hours in advance.
