Pyet DeSpain, the first winner of Gordon Ramsay’s Next Level Chef, will present her book “Rooted in Fire” at the Coronado Public Library on Nov. 22 at 3 p.m.

DeSpain draws on her roots to blend the traditions of Native American and Mexican foodways with modern culinary creativity, offering private chef services and catering.

At the November event, DeSpain will be in conversation with award-winning chef Claudia Sandoval, who launched her career after winning season six of MasterChef U.S. and has since appeared on other television shows like Chopped.

Registration is free and open to the public at adventuresbythebook.com. Those who preorder a copy of the book will receive a $5 book discount and priority seating.
