Doug the Pug rose to fame on Instagram in 2014. The famous fur baby currently has 3.5 million followers and shows no signs of slowing down. Naturally, Doug wanted to send a special message to his fellow celebs and congratulate the couple in a creative fashion.
In the Instagram post on @itsdougthepug, the iconic dog sported a Kansas City Chiefs jersey with Kelce’s name and number. Sitting in a beautiful garden that mirrored the setting of Kelce’s proposal, Doug faced a very pretty pug decked out in a flowery dress with a long blonde wig that resembled Swift’s long locks.
The next slide featured two sets of paws with a gleaming engagement ring between them. The comparison between the actual engagement post and Doug’s tribute is quite impressive.

Doug the Pug is a pet icon
This canine cutie is more than just an internet sensation. His mom, singer and New York Times bestselling author Leslie Moiser, manages Doug’s very busy career that involves various commitments outside of his social media following.
Doug’s resume includes a merchandise line, wellness brand, public appearances, several books, and appearances in music videos and a Super Bowl commercial. Doug also voiced the character of Monchi in the animated film Mitchell’s vs. the Machines.
Michael Riandi, who directed the Netflix comedy, had tried making Monchi’s dog noises for the voiceover but realized it sounded too fake. He discovered Doug on the social media and felt the pup could add validity to the canine character.
“He’s far more famous than I am, and lent authenticity to the movie in a cool way, because pugs have that very specific breathing, panting sound,” Rianda said of Doug. “And if you have a real dog doing it, it’s better than me doing it.”
Doug the Pug clearly has his own several claims to fame and congratulated the couple in classy style, from one icon to another.
