Sunday: Art in the Park is scheduled to take place in Spreckels Park on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 50 top artists in San Diego County, in every genre, will display their artwork, providing the community the chance to converse directly with the artists.
Tuesday: Crafty hour is slated at the Coronado Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 9. Participants will recreate the art of prominent Californian artist Dorr Bothwell. A varied artist, Bothwell was considered a part of the Bay Area Surrealist artist scene and has paintings, drawings, collages and prints in notable museums throughout the world.
The program is for anyone over the age of 18, and registration is recommended because space is limited. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits. Register at coronado.librarycalendar.com.
Friday: On the second Friday of each month, the library hosts a tween takeover. On Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m., kids can participate in making custom flannel pillows using a cut and knot technique. The program is geared for kids aged 8-13.
Saturday: San Diego Union Tribune columnist Richard Lederer is scheduled to provide a show at the Coronado Public Library on Sept. 13 at 11 a.m., unlocking a treasure chest of pirate jokes and riddles.
