Just because a celebrity is super busy on the day-to-day doesn’t mean that they don’t want or have furry friends of their own. Everyone loves a companion, and the type of pet a celebrity chooses to have can even help set a trend!

On Sunday, May 18th, it was announced that Queen Camilla has just recently adopted a new Jack Russell Terrier mix puppy from a rescue. He’s just adorable, and everyone needs to see him:

Moley (nicknamed “Mischievous Moley” by the royal family) is going to fit right in with his new family. He deserves the whole royal treatment!

Moley joins two other dogs: another Jack Russell Terrier named Bluebell as well as King Charles’ pup, a Logotto Romagnolo named Snuff. They just welcomed him in March, so Moley is the second pup to join the palace pack this year!

Queen Camilla seems to love Jack Russell Terriers, as she already has one, and she just recently lost another to the Rainbow Bridge. She’s always been a dog lover, which is something she and King Charles have in common!

Moley was adopted from Battersea, a rescue in the UK. They have plenty of other dogs and cats up for adoption, too, and they’re all just as cute as he is!

The royal family are historically dog lovers

Everybody knows about Queen Elizabeth II and her notorious love of Corgis, but many don’t know that many monarchs before her have kept pets in the palace! The royal family have been dog lovers for generations!

Some of the pets in the palace’s past are:

  1. A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Dash, belonging to Queen Victoria.
  2. A Samoyed gifted to King Edward VII from Otto von Bismarck.
  3. A Border Collie named Heather belonging to King George V.
  4. Several Yellow Labradors kept by King George VI.

This list is just the greatest hits, too: each monarch had more than one dog throughout their reigns! King George V, for example, had four Terriers in addition to Heather. So far, Terriers seem to be a favorite of this family.

How fun is it to see Queen Camilla carrying on this tradition? I love it, and I love Moley. He looks like a very sweet boy!
