Dogs have a special way of winning hearts wherever they go. Even without trying, they can form fast friendships with new people or animals in the blink of an eye. For this standard poodle, his newest pal just happens to be a harbor seal.

After a week went by without seeing his friend, Ash’s excitement was clear when this “Sea Dog” popped her head out of the water again. It’s a shining example of how pups have a way of touching the heart of everyone they meet.

Ash might be a standard poodle, but that hasn’t stopped him from bonding with his ocean buddy. Each time they meet, the sweet harbor seal swims a little closer and playfully follows him along the cove. His mom shared that this connection has grown over time, and their joy in seeing each other is impossible to miss.

And on a recent visit, Ash’s greeting crew grew by one. Alongside his harbor seal friend, a curious sea otter joined in the fun, making the moment even more magical. Check out his newest aquatic pal in this video:

While seals and sea otters are naturally curious animals, it’s not common for them to form bonds with dogs. In fact, many interactions between pets and marine life can have tragic outcomes. However, by maintaining a respectful distance, as Ash does with his pal, it’s possible to appreciate these wild connections safely for everyone involved.

Fans were thrilled by the sweet connection. Viewer @zute_zvezde commented, “Instant attraction.” That sure seems to be the case!

@Gwenspacee wrote, “Land dogs & ocean dogs.” Perfectly said.

And @poodle_pals_unleashed added, “So cool, what an amazing place! Northern California is just incredible.” No arguments here.

Ash and his ocean pals remind us that true friendship knows no boundaries, not even species. Here’s hoping we get to see even more of this incredible bond as it grows.
