Now in its 55th season, the Coronado Promenade Concerts will be hosting a slate of bands in Spreckels Park every Sunday from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, with returning fan favorites and fresh new musical groups performing.

Opening day on May 25 will feature two bands — Coronado Concert Band at 4:30 and SideTraxx at 6:30. Each consecutive week will hear from one group at 6 p.m., with the final two weeks, Aug. 24 and 31, rounding out the lineup with 5 p.m. performances.

“We are celebrating 55 fabulous years of wonderful music and are exceptionally proud of the lineup for this summer,” said Cathy Brown, the board president of Coronado Promenade Concerts. “We have a few returning bands from last year and years past plus four new bands delivering fresh and exciting sounds.”

Military Appreciation Day will be celebrated on Aug. 3 with SixWire, a fan-favorite from Nashville, she added.

Following opening week, the band Laurie Beebe Lewis and the Electric Underground is returning on June 1, featuring a former lead singer from the Mama’s & the Papa’s.

On June 8, the Navy’s 32nd Street Brass Band will perform, and on Father’s Day, Ron’s Garage will treat the community to classic rock. Dance instructors will be back to offer lessons right before the June 29 concert where American Flyboys, a swing band, will be performing.

Two dance bands will kick off the July concert schedule. July 6 will feature Nate Nathan and the MacDaddy-O’s and July 13 will hear from the San Diego Padres house band, Cassie B.

The board of directors said they extend a thank you to their sponsors, which are listed online at https://coronadoconcert.com/.
