Ten elementary school students out of 192 entrants were recognized at the Nov. 19 City Council meeting as the winners of this year’s turkey coloring contest.

The City of Coronado Recreation & Golf Services and the Coronado Junior Women’s Club announced the winners at the Nov. 19 meeting. Mayor Richard Bailey and council board members thanked the children for participating in the contest.

In the kindergarten and first grade category, Maxine Mooney from Silver Strand Elementary placed third, Madelyn Fannin from Village Elementary placed second and Alana Stiffarm from Sacred Heart Elementary placed first.

For second and third grade, Hattie Waddel from Silver Strand Elementary placed third, Sally Yedid from Village Elementary placed second and Camille Delgado from Silver Strand Elementary placed first.

Out of the fourth and fifth grade submissions, Grace Hartsell from Christ Church Day School placed third, Eli Gbeh from Village elementary placed second and Landry Ralph from Village Elementary placed first.

The entries will be on display at the Coronado Community Center through Dec. 2.
