Our dogs often find unique ways to communicate their needs. Even without barking or making eye contact, many devise ways to let us know how they feel. This is especially true when we’ve done something they’re not happy with.
This tiny Chihuahua found a big way to communicate with Mom about his desired spot. Lucky for him, it didn’t take long for her to catch on to his message.
Check out this video from April 10th to see an adorable boy laying the guilt on thick.

It’s understandable that Ambrose wants to spend a few minutes relaxing in the sun. After recently traveling and not seeing the sun for five days, I haven’t been able to get enough of that warm light either. Even after realizing the pillows were blocking his access, this good boy wouldn’t disturb Mom. Instead, but in full dramatic fashion, he rested his head on the armrest to soak up the sun. OMG! This behavior will certainly pull at the heartstrings. His tactics proved effective, and his doting mom quickly made room for her little guy.

Why do Chihuahuas seek the sun?
This charmingly petite breed dates back to the ninth century in Mexico, where the climate is warm, and the world’s tiniest dog didn’t require a thick winter coat of fur. Because of their small size and thin hair, it can be tough for Chihuahuas to regulate their body temperature, which is why they tend to shake frequently. While humans bask in the sun for pleasure, Ambrose might seek the sun’s warmth because he needs it. At least, that’s likely a guilt trip he might give his mom the next time she puts pillows in his special spot. Fortunately, his dark fur will help him absorb the sun’s rays and make him feel snug in no time.
Pet parents understood this emotional manipulation well. One viewer shared, “LOL, mine is the same way. I call him boujie because he will not lie on the ground without a blanket. He’ll put his front paws down with his butt up.” That is too funny. Viewer @Drdirty reported, “Maisy will have a full meltdown if she doesn’t have one of her 67 fleece blankets to lay on.” They want what they want and do what’s necessary to get it. Another person responded, “I thought mine was the only one who dramatically did this!” This hilarious behavior is part of our dog’s DNA.
Hopefully, warm days aren’t too far away. After a long, cold winter, humans are also eagerly waiting to bask in the sun on those warm summer days.
