The Islanders traveled to Valley Center to take part in the Jaguar Invitational on April 13, where several athletes scored personal records and Lauren Gilhooly surpassed the meet’s record for the 200-meter dash.

Nathan Ayan ran a personal record (PR) in the 800-meter dash, Rafael Roos in the 1600-meter and Davin Collins notched two PRs in the 100 and 200-meter races.

The girls 4 x 100-meter relay team— Gilhooly, Tatiana Potter, Lindsey Balsley and Summer Little— finished second in the invitational heat. This same group took third overall in the 4 x 400-meter relay with a City League leading time.

Gilhooly, a standout for the track team, won both the 100 and 200-meter dashes. For the 200-meter dash, her time of 24.71 seconds holds the Jaguar Invitational meet record.
