Fall is in the air and so are plenty of local events to keep you busy.
The Coronado Chamber of Commerce organized a few business networking opportunities in the next weeks. And, with the Coronado Island Film Festival quickly approaching, don’t miss out on events leading up to it.
18 Wednesday: FILM FORUM CORONADO will be taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month in the library’s Winn Room at 6 p.m. This is presented by the partnership of the Coronado Public Library and the Coronado Island Film Festival.
Film expert Ralph DeLauro will give a brief introduction to each film and lead a discussion afterwards. This week, the film “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” will be presented.
19 Thursday: The Chamber has partnered with Edward Jones and Cal Private Bank to bring the community a Financial Strategies Luncheon at the Coronado Public Library.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees will be presented with financial strategies and tools to run their businesses more effectively. This will also serve as an opportunity to network with other business owners in the community.

19 Thursday: The Coronado Historical Association’s next Wine & Lecture presents author Christian Esquevin with his book “Designing Hollywood: How the Studio Wardrobe Department Created the Image of Golden Age Movie Stars.”
The lecture will focus on Esquevin’s new book and will include a slide show featuring the biggest stars of the Golden Age in costumes designed to create their image.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the lecture starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at coronadohistory.org.
20 Friday: The library’s Autumn Concert Series takes place on Fridays from Sept. 1 to Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. in the Winn Room.
This week’s performer is pianist Adam Hostomsky. The award winning classical pianist is dedicated to bringing deep insight and virtuoso fireworks to audiences in San Diego and worldwide.
Registration for the event is not required. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the performance.
21 Saturday: The Spoilers Book Club reads books that are turned into movies and on Saturday, the club will be comparing the book and film of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving.
Head to the Coronado Public Library at 2 p.m. to join in. (NOTE: This event was cancelled on Oct. 20 for unforseen circumstances.)
24 Tuesday: The Annual Artifact & Archive Collection Benefit Luncheon will take place at 11 a.m. at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club.
Event Chairs Jenna McIntosh & RG Head invite you to Fall in Love with CHA.
Gain insight into the the Coronado Historical Association’s important work preserving Coronado’s artifacts and archives, and learn firsthand how CHA stewards local history.
The luncheon is $75 per person and tickets can be purchased at coronadohistory.org.
24 Tuesday: The Chamber is hosting the October Networking Social at Garage Buona Forchetta from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Meet new friends, discuss business, and get your questions answered all while enjoying delectable bites and drinks at Garage Buona Forchetta. Plus, their Halloween decorations are spooky and awesome!
