Spring is in the air and that means love is on the brain at Coronado Playhouse.
Stephen Sondheim’s beloved musical “Company” is rolling into the Playhouse through March, with opening night March 3.
“Company” runs Thursdays to Saturdays at 8 p.m. with 2 p.m. showings on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Company” was the precursor to treasured romcoms featuring flawed characters gallivanting through posh bars and restaurants while contemplating their love lives, according to the Playhouse.
The show features a cast of characters named Joanne and Larry, Susan and Peter, Amy and Paul, Sarah and Harry, and Jenny and David.
Wishless 35th birthday
They all surprise their friend Bobby for what becomes a wish-less 35th birthday.
The show continues through a series of vignettes as Bobby reflects on their past relationships and the marriages of their friends to determine what exactly they want in their future.
These memories have no particular order, so the audience follows Bobby through missed chances and successes in their love life.
Some of the biggest stars in Broadway history have played these iconic characters.
