The local Trump/MAGA Republican Lincoln Club political machine is at it again, calling respected community leader and incumbent CUSD trustee, retired U.S. Navy Capt. Mal Sandie, “too partisan” while promoting its own extremist candidates for the school board.
The machine is attacking Sandie because they view him as an easy target — he has no formal campaign and has refused contributions, choosing instead to limit his re-election spending to $2,000 of his own money.
Sandie and his colleagues on the current board have worked together collegially to put students first, avoiding the partisan drama that has plagued the board in the past. The best way to keep our school board on an even keel is to re-elect both of our incumbent trustees: Alexia Palacios-Peters and Mal Sandie.
