19 Wednesday: Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The featured film on Aug. 19 is “All the King’s Men.”
21 Friday: The Coronado Public Library continues the summer concert series with a performance by “The Uptown Rhythm Makers,” a San Diego band known for bringing the sounds of New Orleans-style traditional jazz and swing to local audiences. Seating is first come, first served and the performance begins at 1 p.m.
