On July 4, 2026, the Crown City Classic celebrates its 53rd year, inviting runners of all ages to start their holiday with purpose, patriotism and panoramic views along San Diego Bay. The event features a 12K (7.4 miles), a fast-paced 5K, and the kids half-mile race.

Participants will start in Tidelands Park and run along Glorietta Boulevard. All finishers receive a race t-shirt, chip-timed results, a medal and access to the Crown City Classic Expo.

“The race is a symbol of patriotism for runners, a chance for all to come together and celebrate America, especially this year as we mark the nation’s 250th birthday,” said Jamie Monroe, Race Director of the Crown City Classic. “It’s a great day that combines athleticism and national pride into an opportunity to support the Coronado community and our local youth.”

Through race proceeds, the event contributes over $20,000 annually to help fund resources for the Islander Sports Foundation, according to organizers.

Races begin at 7 a.m. For more information at to register, visit crowncityrun.com.
