“I spent three years of active duty in the Navy Reserves, a couple times in and out of Vietnam and generally I’m joining a whole load of friends here today,” Lohen said.

“On this day, Coronado proudly and solemnly joined cities and towns throughout our nation, dedicating May 25th, 2026 at Memorial Day, to honor and memorialize the following heroes. We take a moment and let each of us offer a moment of silence for those who are fallen heroes, their comrades in arms, their families, and their friends,” said Mayor John Duncan.

“He was so proud to be a part of SEAL Team 3. We try to honor his legacy the best we can every single day and remember the great man he was,” Mikale Chambers said.

“I was a baby, but it really impacted my older brother and older sister and of course my mom… The city does this to make it a day of remembrance,” said Lisa Thompson, second from right.

“It’s such an honor to remember those who have done so much in America. I can’t believe the sacrifice,” Tonya Lehman said.

“I served in the Marine Corps, and this day means a lot to me because of the people who lost their lives serving the country. It makes me cry — it really does,” said Mike Napolitano, third from right.
