12 Tuesday: The Coronado Public Library will host New York Times bestselling author Kristy Woodson Harvey and USA Today bestselling novelist Meg Donohue, with special guest Kate Luckinbill (granddaughter of Desi Arnaz), for a summer read program. The 7 p.m. event includes an author conversation, audience Q&A and book signing.

14 Thursday: Coronado’s Recreation and Golf Services department is hosting a “Drawing and Painting a Portrait” workshop so participants can learn how to make a realistic head-and-shoulders portrait from a photograph.
