The Coronado High School Islanders remain in the thick of league play as the spring season draws nearer to postseason. The baseball team in particular has two league games against rival Point Loma this week.
21 Tuesday:
Islanders golf is headed to Mission Trails for a matchup against Patrick Henry. Tee times start at 3 p.m.
Coronado swim is headed back to Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex, where they’ll be facing St. Augustine and Our Lady of Peace. Races start at 3:30 p.m.
Coronado’s girls’ beach volleyball team is at home for their first game of the week against Canyon Hills. The game starts at 4 p.m.
Varsity softball is at home to face Madison High; JV is on the road. First pitch for both games is at 4 p.m.
Freshman baseball will be at home to face Scripps Ranch, starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Islanders boys’ lacrosse teams are at home to play against Cathedral Catholic. Games start at 5 and 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the girls’ lacrosse teams hit the road and play at Scripps Ranch. JV is at 5:30, varsity soon after at 7 p.m.
22 Wednesday:
CHS baseball plays its first of two games against Point Loma this week. Varsity is on the road, JV at home. First pitch is at 4 p.m. for both teams.
Beach volleyball plays its second game in as many days, this time on the road at La Jolla Country Day. The game starts at 3:30 p.m.
Varsity golf faces Francis Parker at San Diego Country Club. Tee times start at 3 p.m.
23 Thursday:
For the third straight day, CHS golf is competing. This time, they’re at home to face La Jolla, starting at 3 p.m.
Beach volleyball also plays for the third consecutive day with a home game against Patrick Henry, starting at 4 p.m.
The swim team faces University City in a home meet, starting at 3:30 p.m.
CHS softball plays its last game of the week against Mission Bay. Varsity is on the road while JV is at home. Both games start at 4 p.m.
Girls’ lacrosse has its senior night with a home game against La Jolla. Games start at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
24 Friday:
Varsity and JV baseball play their second game of the week against Point Loma. This time, varsity will be hosting and JV is at Point Loma. First pitch for both games will be at 4 p.m.
Boys’ volleyball closes its week with a road game against Patrick Henry. Games are at 4:30 and 6 p.m.
25 Saturday:
CHS track and field will be headed to the Frosh/Soph Invitational at Del Norte High. Events start at 9 a.m.
Freshman baseball plays the last game of the week for the Islanders on the road at Scripps Ranch. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
