Coronado sixth graders are scheduled to attend the annual San Diego County outdoor education event at Camp Cuyamaca from April 6 to 10, and the district is asking for community members to “adopt a camper.”

The cost for each child to attend the camp — where trained outdoor education teachers will guide students in studying conservation, nature and science — is $390.

The district said that while many families are able to meet the financial requirement, others cannot, but no child will be denied the opportunity to attend.

Donations to “adopt a camper” and support a student financially can be made at https://bit.ly/3OgcnKi. Checks payable to Coronado Middle School can be dropped off or mailed to 550 F Avenue, Coronado, CA, 92118. Email Rachel.Trus@CoronadoUSD.Net with questions.
