The third annual Elleaire Fore Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at the Coronado Municipal Golf Course to raise awareness and funding for Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia.

The annual tournament is hosted by Elleaire Fore Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2023 by Elleaire Lyons, a senior at Coronado High School. Since its inception, Elleaire Fore has raised over $60,000 for medical research, according to Lyons.

Lyons launched the organization to raise funding for research focused on treatments and a cure for the condition, which is a rare and progressive neuromuscular disorder that affects her father. There is currently no cure.

The organization said all proceeds from the tournament support medical research and the development of treatments.

Event registration includes range balls, golf carts, contests, lunch and goodie bags.

Organizers say the event is expected to sell out and golfers and supporters are encouraged to register online. According to the non-profit, tournament hole sponsorships and raffle donation opportunities are still available.
