Discover Coronado welcomes anyone seeking employment to attend its third annual Coronado Job Fair this spring.

Every year Discover Coronado, the destination marketing organization for the city of  Coronado, intends to connect local residents with jobs close to home.

The Coronado Job Fair is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Winn Room inside the Coronado Public Library at 640 Orange Ave. on April 22.

Discover Coronado has accommodated hours to welcome students from the local high school to its job fair, meaning the upcoming job fair will begin in the afternoon, rather than in the morning.

The organization says this year’s event comes at a time when numerous residents are looking for work following government downsizing and amid rising costs for housing, food, utilities and healthcare.

“Whether someone is looking for their very first job, returning to the workforce, or looking to stay active in retirement, the Coronado Job Fair connects our community with real opportunities right here at home,” said Claudia Ludlow, interim chair of Discover Coronado.

Opportunities for all

The Coronado Job Fair is a four-hour event open to the public.

The fair welcomes job seekers of all ages and experience levels including local youth, retired residents and seniors.

“We want this event to open doors for residents at every stage of life,” said Ludlow.

According to the organization, Ludlow began her work career at the Hotel del Coronado in 1991 and became the general manager of the Glorietta Bay Inn in 2002.

Discover Coronado says the number of open jobs at the local resorts increases between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The event is expected to include hiring representatives from Coronado Island Marriott Resort, Hotel del Coronado, and Loews Coronado Bay Resort.

Other representatives from businesses in the city will also be available to discuss current openings and collect resumes, of which attendees should bring multiple copies.
