7 Sunday: The Coronado Island Film Festival’s student classic film series is scheduled to present a family movie screening of “Scrooge” at 1 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Coronado Public Library. The screening will be followed by an announcement of the 2026 slate of films for the series exploring “The Art of Adaptation.” Program director Jon Mosier will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards.
8 Monday: Community members can learn how to make floral collars and accessories for pets while meeting adoptable dogs from PAWS of Coronado at a workshop in the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library on Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a collar, leash or other pet accessory to decorate with floral crafting supplies.
9 Tuesday: Every second Tuesday of the month, a crafty hour is hosted at the Coronado Public Library. On Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m., participants 18 and older can create a floral wreath out of recycled paper towel rolls. Space is limited, and registration is recommended at coronado.librarycalendar.com. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits.
13 Saturday: A sit and sew event is offered to anyone who wants to work on their independent sewing projects in a group setting. On Dec. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., participants can bring their sewing machines to the John D. Spreckels Center. Attendance costs $7 for residents and $9 for non-residents, with a deadline to sign up 48 hours in advance. Visit coronado.ca.us/civicrec to sign up.
13 Saturday: The Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2422 is hosting a Christmas vendor fair on Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 557 Orange Ave. The event will feature seasonal booths, hot cocoa, gifts and holiday treats.
