Coming off the Thanksgiving break, it’s a busy week for Coronado High athletics. Both the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams are slated to compete, along with both basketball teams and the girls’ water polo team.

1 Monday: 

The varsity girls’ basketball team plays its first home game of the season against Vincent Memorial. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. 

2 Tuesday: 

Boys’ basketball hits the road to face rival Point Loma. JV tips off at 5:30, varsity follows at 7 p.m. 

Girls’ soccer is at home for the first match of the season as they face Mission Hills. JV plays at 4, varsity starts at 6 p.m. 

Girls’ water polo is on the road to play Mater Dei Catholic. Varsity plays at 3, JV follows  at 4 p.m. 

3 Wednesday:

Boys’ soccer plays its first game following the break against Mira Mesa on the road. JV starts at 4, varsity follows at 6 p.m. 

Girls’ varsity water polo plays the second match of the week against Otay Ranch. The game is at Southwest College and starts at 4:30 p.m. 

4 Thursday: 

Girls’ soccer plays their second home game of the week against San Diego. The JV game starts at 4 and varsity starts at 6 p.m. 

Girls’ basketball is set to play against Mater Dei at home at 5:30 and 7 p.m. 

5 Friday: 

Boys’ soccer hits the road for the second time this week to play against Olympian High School. JV starts at 4, varsity at 6 p.m.

Boys’ basketball is at home to face Mount Miguel. Tip-offs are at 5:30 and 7 p.m. 

Girls’ varsity water polo will be playing in a tournament at Rancho Bernardo High School. Details TBD. 

6 Saturday: 

Varsity girls’ basketball is playing in a tournament. Details TBD. 

Varsity girls’ water polo continues to play in the tournament at Rancho Bernardo. 

9 Tuesday: 

Girls’ soccer opens the week with a home game against Mission Bay. Games start at 4 and 6 p.m. 

Varsity girls’ basketball heads to Steele Canyon for a game at 7 p.m. 

Girls’ water polo plays a road match against Eastlake High at Las Palmas Pool. Varsity starts at 5; JV at 6 p.m. 

10 Wednesday:

Boys’ soccer plays a match at home against Granite Hills. JV at 4′ varsity at 6 p.m.

Varsity boys’ basketball is on the road to play against Otay Ranch. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. 

11 Thursday:

Girls’ soccer is the only Coronado team to play on the Dec. 11. The team is headed to Rancho Buena Vista for matches at 5:30 and 7 p.m. 

12 Friday: 

Boys’ soccer closes the week with a home game against Mt. Carmel. JV plays at 4, varsity follows at 6 p.m. 

Boys’ basketball will also be at home for a game against High Tech High. JV tips at 5:30, varsity at 7 p.m.
