Hundreds of filmmakers and actors crowded the Crown Room at the Hotel del Coronado on Nov. 5 to celebrate the Coronado Island Film Festival, the silver screen and each other.

This year marks the festival’s 10th anniversary, and to celebrate, six distinguished individuals who have been in the film industry for years, and some even decades, were honored.

The Legacy Award went to actor Beau Bridges. Bridges is an award-winning actor, director and producer who currently stars opposite of Kathy Bates and Jason Ritter in CBS’s “Matlock.” On the big screen, he’s appeared in titles like “The Descendants,” “The Fabulous Baker Boys,” “Dreamin’ Wild,” “The Hotel New Hampshire,” “Heart Like a Wheel” and “Jerry Maguire,” to name a few.

The Leonard Maltin Award went to actor Delroy Lindo, who is coming off the critical and commercial success of Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners.” He has also starred in films including “The Cider House Rules,” “Get Shorty,” “Gone in 60 Seconds,” “Heist,” “The Core” and “The Harder They Fall.”

The Transcendent Award went to music editor and composer Adam Smalley, who began his career at age 7 as a child actor, appearing in more than 20 commercials before discovering his true passion of music. Smalley received the first-ever Golden Reel Award for “The Lion King,” marking the creation of the music editor category. For more than two decades, he has served as an artist trustee for the Sundance Film Institute.

The Artistry in Film Award went to costume designer Deborah Lynn Scott. She most recently reunited with James Cameron on “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” and previously worked on “Titanic,” “Aloha,” “Back to the Future,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” and “Legends of the Fall,” among other films.

The ScreenCraft Award went to screenwriter Austin Kolodney. Kolodney is the screenwriter behind Gus Van Sant’s “Dead Man’s Wire,” a darkly comedic and gritty crime thriller inspired by the Tony Kiritsis hostage crisis.

The Trailblazer Impact Award went to stunt woman Heidi Moneymaker, a former UCLA gymnast who has performed high-profile stunts in films including “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Black Widow,” “Captain America: Civil War” and “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.” Moneymaker has doubled for Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, Rachel Bilson and Brie Larson.

The Leonard Maltin Gala is a time honored tradition celebrating the festival’s four days of films, documentaries, shorts and more.
