22 Saturday: Pyet DeSpain, the winner of Gordon Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef,” is scheduled to speak at the Coronado Public Library at 3 p.m. on Nov. 22. DeSpain will provide insight into the way that her Mexican and Native American heritage infuses her recipes. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served, subject to availability.
24 Monday: Olga GutiĂ©rrez and MartĂn Camps will speak at the Coronado Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 as part of the Festival de Literatura en el Norte. The festival brings together writers and publishers to explore the themes of communities and borders, promoting literary creation in Baja California. The presentation is in Spanish. 26 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library’s Best of the Best Book Club meets regularly on the fourth Wednesday of each month to discuss books that have won major awards.
