14 Friday: Local guitar duo, Alchemy, is scheduled to perform a concert at the Coronado Public Library on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. Ephraim Reitman and Donn Boyd met in the fall of 2022 and formed Alchemy shortly after, finding common musical ground in their love for blues, jazz, folk and Latin compositions.

16 Sunday: The Coronado Ferry Landing is slated to host a free weekend concert on Nov. 16 featuring the Crimson Collar Band.

19 Wednesday: The Republican Women of California – Coronado Crown City will have its November meeting at the Coronado Historic Association lecture room on Nov. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. Club members, any interested Republicans and members of the community are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The speaker will be Sasha Reva, a field representative with Turning Point USA. She oversees Club America chapters across San Diego, Riverside and Orange Counties, and Hawaii.

19 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. 

Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The film featured on Nov. 19 is “Dr. Strangelove.”
