Coronado residents may hear more noise from jets from Sept. 30 through Oct. 7 as Naval Base Coronado performs aircraft carrier flight operations.

Naval Base Coronado announced on their Facebook page that there will be increased jet activity during evening hours, including possible late night arrivals at Naval Air Station North Island on Coronado.

“These operations are essential for fleet training and readiness,” read the training alert posted on Sept. 23.

The runway on North Island will be used to deconflict with arrivals and departures at San Diego International Airport, and to help air traffic controllers manage overall air traffic flow.
