Internationally trained soprano Gabriella Rodmac is scheduled to take the stage at the Coronado Public Library on Aug. 16 at 2 p.m., for an afternoon of opera.
Her performance titled, “The Girl From the West” will feature a selection of Spanish boleros, highlights from “West Side Story” and classic Italian favorites. Rodmac will be accompanied by pianist Michele Scanlon.
Rodmac, a San Diego native with deep ties to Southern California and Mexico, has built a career performing across Europe and the U.S. She has performed to acclaim in major roles in “Carmen,” “Don Giovanni,” and “Madama Butterfly.” She currently resides in Italy, where she is a member of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto and the historic Corale Monzese choir. She is known for the warmth and roundness of her voice as well as for the extended range and versatility.
