Shelter puppies deserve the world. To be a dog in a shelter at all is rough, but to be a puppy in a shelter? That must be awful! Puppies need a ton of room and time to run around and socialize. Though shelter employees obviously try their best, but there are some thing out of their hands.
Special enrichment can really help them, too! On Tuesday, July 22nd, a group of “very important puppies” got a special invitation. They were invited to an aquarium, where they got to run around and look at all of the cool fish! Honestly, I’m a little jealous:
@atlantahumaneWhen you’re a VIP (Very Important Puppy), you get special access to Glow Nights at @georgiaaquarium 🪼 Our pups made a huge splash and lit up the night with a little help from their new friends 🐠 Glow Nights are officially puppy approved, so don’t miss out this summer! #atlantahumanesociety #aquarium #puppies #shelterpup #fyp
The Atlanta Humane Society is so grateful that the Georgia Aquarium was kind enough to allow their puppies in for glow night! Each of the puppies was given a glow-stick collar to wear, and they were led around the aquarium. They loved zooming around and looking at everything and everyone!
These puppies not only had fun with the cute glow sticks they were wearing, but they really liked all the animals. They seemed to be really interested in them, especially the big whale shark in the tank! Glow night is typically open to the public, so hopefully someone saw these pups and fell in love!
These dogs are described on the Atlanta Humane Society website as mixed-breeds, about 44 pounds full-grown. Right now, they’re two months old, and each of their names starts with S! There’s:
- Spirit
- Skeeter
- Sunflower
- Saint
- Stunner
If you’re interested in any of them, you can visit them at the shelter at 1551 Perry Blvd NW, Atlanta, Ga. Keep in mind, however, that they may very well demand to go back to the aquarium. At the very least, they’ll probably demand to wear a glow stick collar!
Until they’re in their forever homes, they’ll probably be taking part in puppy yoga:
@atlantahumaneWe have two upcoming Puppy Yoga classes! Thursday, July 10th and Saturday, July 12th. Please come spend time with our chaotic pups! #thingstodoinatlanta #atlantahumanesociety #shelterpup #puppyyoga #rescuedog #shelterdog ♬ Funny video “Carmen Prelude” Arranging weakness(836530) – yo suzuki(akisai)
I hope these cute dogs find their forever homes soon! May whoever takes them home nurture their love of the aquarium!
