Roads are now open and an evacuation has lifted after a gas leak was reported in the area of 10th Street and E Avenue, according to the Coronado Police Department.

The police department confirmed the leak was due to construction workers hitting a gas line while working.

As a precaution, several homes were evacuated.

Residents affected by the evacuation were encouraged to go to the Coronado Community Center for shelter.
