At the CIF Division 2 championships on May 10, Coronado High School swimmer Chloe Quarles placed third in the 200 individual medley and second in the 100 fly.
In the latter, Quarles placed a new team record, replacing the one she notched last season.
Gage Everitt is a repeat champion in the 100 fly, also placing first in the 100 backstroke. Ally Fabrey finished 12th in the 200 free and 11th in the 500, while Santi Garcia-Rojo finished 16th in the 200 free and seventh in the 500. Luca Morocco finished seventh in the 100 free and 13th in the 100 breast stroke.
Quarles and Everitt moved on to the CIF state competition the following weekend to swim against the fastest swimmers in the state. Everitt placed ninth in the 100 fly and 27th in the 100 back. Quarles placed 29th in the 200 individual medley and 15th in the 100 fly.
