New York Times bestselling author Carl Hiaasen will appear in conversation at the Coronado Public Library with journalist and author Dean Nelson to discuss his latest novel, “Fever Beach,” on Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m.
At 23, Hiaasen joined The Miami Herald as a city-desk reporter and went on to work for the newspaper’s weekly magazine and prize-winning investigations team. He is the author of 14 previous novels, including the bestsellers “Squeeze Me,” “Razor Girl,” “Bad Monkey,” “Star Island” and “Lucky You,” along with six bestselling children’s books.
His novel “Strip Tease” was turned into a major motion picture starring Demi Moore and directed by Andrew Bergman. “Bad Monkey” was adapted into an Apple TV+ series of the same name.
Now, Hiassen will speak about the inspiration behind “Fever Beach” and his take on Florida’s strange and sensational underbelly at a free event in Coronado.
A Q&A and book signing will follow the talk. This event is free and open to the public, with general seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to reserve preferred seating, visit warwicks.com or call Warwick’s at 858-454-0347.
