The Coronado High School boys’ swim team dropped their winning streak after a meet against Cathedral Catholic High School on April 11, yet Gage Everitt and Santi Garcia Rojo notched first place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle, respectively.

On the girls’ team, Chloe Quarles landed three first place finishes in the 100 butterfly, the 200 individual medley, and the 200 medley relay with Kailyn Cornell, Jillian Stachowicz and Mirren Fallon.

This meet followed a successful meet against Patrick Henry High School on March 28, where the boys’ team got a final score of 104-60.

First place finishes from the Islanders included Luke Rivera in the 200 freestyle, Cedrick Tolentino in the 200 individual medley and 100 breast, Devin Ertekin in the 50 free and 100 free, and Gage Everitt in the 500 free and 100 backstroke. The team also won the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay, with Everitt, Garcia Rojo, Tolentino and Ertekin as swimmers.

The girls lost in a close competition, 75-94, with winning races by Quarles — 100 fly and 100 back — and Stachowicz — 100 free.  The girls also won the 400 freestyle relay with Fallon, Ally Fabrey, Chloe O’Keefe and Stachowicz.
