The Coronado High School boys’ swim team beat Point Loma High School 90-78 on March 26, edging out the Pointers by clocking a few first place finishes.

Andre Poole took first place in the 50 free, while Gage Everitt and Sean Wilbur came out on top in the 100 free and 100 backstroke, respectively.

The girls’ team came up short this year against Point Loma, but Chloe Quarles and Ally Fabrey notched a few first place finishes.

Quarles came in first in the 50 free and 100 fly, while Fabrey won the 100 backstroke.

First place finishes for the boys’ JV team include: Cody Karosich in 200 free and 100 breaststroke; Calvin Park in the 100 individual medley, and Mason Patterson in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke.

The JV boys also finished first in the 200 medley relay with Patterson, Park, Brayden McLean and Jarett Waterlander competing. The 200 freestyle relay team also took first place with swimmers McLean, Karosich, Park and Brandon Waterlander.

First place finishes in the girls’ individual events include: Morgan Walker in the 100 individual medley; Sienna Phelps in the 50 freestyle; Ivonne Cohen in the 100 Freestyle; Alejandra Castellanos in the 100 backstroke, and Sophie Berta in the 100 breaststroke.

They too, placed first in both the 200 medley relay (Castellanos, Berta, Carlie Ryan and Cohen) and the 200 freestyle relay (Marissa Sagrero, Phelps, Walker and Ryan).
