NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO – The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS O’Kane, assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, returned to its homeport, Naval Base San Diego, on Feb. 7 after a seven-month deployment to the U.S. 3rd, 7th and 5th Fleet area of operations.

O’Kane departed San Diego with the strike group on July 17, 2024, and remained in U.S. 5th Fleet following the departure of the USS Abraham Lincoln and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-class missile destroyers USS Frank E. Petersen, Jr., USS Michael Murphy and USS Spruance.

“I am incredibly proud of the exemplary work this team has invested in themselves and their equipment over the past few months,” said Cmdr. Rich Ray, commanding officer of O’Kane. “We are proud of the work we accomplished this deployment, and we are looking forward to continuing that success into the next challenge.”
