Join the Coronado Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. for one of author Courtney Lund O’Neil first appearances delving into her true crime memoir “Postmortem.”
In the vein of “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark,” this powerful exploration revisits the chilling crimes of “Killer Clown” John Wayne Gacy, offering a unique perspective on the emotional aftershocks that his violence left behind. The book shifts the narrative of true crime storytelling by prioritizing the stories of the victims and those left behind.
Lund O’Neil’s mother, Kim Byers, was a key witness in Gacy’s 1978 arrest, and her testimony helped bring justice to the victims, including Rob Piest, Gacy’s final known victim.
The author’s journey to understand her mother’s trauma and the enduring legacy of Gacy’s crimes forms the heart of “Postmortem.”
The author will be in conversation with Jacqueline Alnes, author of “The Fruit Cure: The Story of Extreme Wellness Turned Sour.” This event is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited preferred seating is offered with the purchase of “Postmortem” through Warwicks Bookstore.
