Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy continues to be the cutest dog dad (or as he refers to himself, papa) ever with caring for his precious rescue dog Miss Peaches.
Portnoy bought an amazingly gorgeous house (House is an understatement, this is a $42 million harborfront estate on Nantucket island) and with this property comes some really incredible beachfront. Which Miss Peaches is using to play nonstop rounds of hide and seek with her beloved papa, no matter how many fences he puts up.
@famousmisspeachesI love playing hide and seek with Papa #misspeaches
The video was shared to the @Famousmisspeaches account and it’s so hilariously adorable to see Portnoy climb over the wire fence to save his baby. He’s such a great dog owner! Miss Peaches is just hilariously unbothered by the entire ordeal. One person commented, “When you rescued her, you didn’t know you’d be rescuing her every day since lol.” Another added, “I love how she keeps escaping every time he secures it more!”

This whole fence-gate has been going on for a few days now and it’s just so hilarious to see that nothing can fence Miss Peaches in!
@famousmisspeachesMy Papa is holding me prisoner on my own beach! This is ludicrous! He says it’s for my own good. I say let me decide whether to eat dead seagulls or not! #freepeachy #misspeaches
Portnoy captioned this video, “My Papa is holding me prisoner on my own beach! This is ludicrous! He says it’s for my own good. I say let me decide whether to eat dead seagulls or not!”
I get it! It’s always stressful when you move to a new home and you aren’t sure if the fencing can contain your dog. We moved to our home a year ago and I was so excited to have a fenced back yard until I realized the wrought iron fence bars were just big enough for our Pomeranian to squeeze through. I found this brilliant dog doughnut thing that you place around your dog’s neck (It sort of looks like an airline pillow) that makes it impossible for them to squeeze through a fence. He wore it a week and even though he looked ridiculous we were soon able to take it off him and now he doesn’t even bother trying to escape.
Portnoy could try something like that but according to Forbes, he has 1.2 acres of waterfront and I’m not sure he wants to fence all of that!
Options besides traditional fencing for runaway pups
Like others have suggested in the comments an Airtag won’t keep Peaches in but Portnoy can locate her just by checking his phone. Portnoy said he was going to outfit Peaches with a GoPro which would at least show him how she keeps escaping.
Some people use invisible fencing or GPS fencing for their pups. That requires training your dog so they know where the barrier lines are, and most of these units use a “shock” system for letting your dog know they are close to the fence boundary, which I’m not a huge fan of.
Peaches seems like such a smart girl, and hopefully she will learn these fun little games of hide and seek are not so fun for her papa, who worries about her getting out! Good luck Portnoy! We will keep an eye on Miss Peaches, the precious escape artist!
