Jennifer Aniston is much more than Rachel from Friends, in case anyone needed to hear that. She’s one of the best-known actresses anywhere in the world; her resume is a mile long, and it’s incredibly impressive.

Beyond that, though, she’s a dog mom, and she’s getting ready to share that with the world! On Tuesday, June 12th, she announced the first of her new children’s books, and it’s inspired entirely by her rescue dog, Clyde:

I’m so happy for Jennifer and for Clyde – releasing a book is no small feat, and being the star of the book may be even harder! I just know they’re both so happy!

Jennifer Aniston has three dogs: a Great Pyrenees mix named Lord Chesterfield, a Pit Bull named Sophie, and a Schnauzer mix named Clyde, who is the star of this show. She loves all of her rescue dogs very much and brings them along on her adventures whenever she possibly can!

When she can’t, though, apparently she writes about it. This first book is called Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life, and in it, he’s trying to find his favorite hobby; he sees his family all doing things they love, but he can’t find his favorite thing. I wonder if we’ll be seeing mentions of Lord Chesterfield and Sophie in it, too!

Who is Clydeo?

Clydeo is inspired by her rescue dog Clyde, the Schnauzer mix. You can see the similarities in their coats and their sweet little ears, though they do look a little different. While Clydeo is more white/tan, Clyde leans more toward grey.

Clydeo is an animated dog character created in collaboration with Invisible Studios, who did the animating. He has his very own Instagram (a verified platform with about 50k followers!). He’s often added into real photos with her dogs, as if he’s a part of the family, and it’s adorable. She’s even “brought him” to set with her a few times!

They’ve been posting pretty consistently on this page for a little over 2 years to help build up recognition for him. Now, he’s getting a 4-book series! We know the first one is called Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life, and it’ll be available to purchase starting October 1st. There isn’t information regarding the next three installments, though I’m sure they’ll be great, too! What’s next, a Clydeo cartoon? Maybe a short film? If it happens, I’m sat!
