In the realm of things being unbelievably sweet, one adorable little pup’s cute routine when it’s time to eat is a total heart melter. Get this one – he requires a “forehead kiss” before digging into his food.
And really, out of all the release words and commands out there, this might just be the cutest one ever. You really have to see this for yourself!

Seriously, is that not the sweetest thing in the world? I almost can’t control how much I love this. Where did he learn this? How was this knowledge acquired? I guess it’s not important. What matters is that this is an actual thing, and it’s so darn adorable.

He’s such a good boy! The way he just sits there so calm and patient is impressive, sure, but I just want to give him all the love and praise in the world. Honestly, hats off to his parents for teaching this little guy this command. We can train our dogs to do a lot of things with a little time and effort, but I think this should be mandatory.
Teaching dogs release commands
Release words and commands are part of basic training when it comes to our furry friends, but not all pet parents utilize these special skills as much as others.
Once our pups learn to do things like “sit” and “stay,” oftentimes it sort of just ends there. Hey, I’m not here to judge, but again, teaching your dog a release command (or word) is a great skill for them to have for many reasons. In some cases, it can even save their lives!
Just think about it… if you have a rambunctious little furball, training them to understand when they can and can’t go somewhere is extremely important, which is why these skills should not be taken for granted.
And similar to all training methods, the best place to start is right where you’re at! Plus, if your dog already understands commands like “sit” and “stay,” you’re off to a good start. In fact, that’s a great place to begin.
Find the word or command you prefer—it can be any word like “Go!” or “Come!” or even just a waving hand… it’s totally your choice—and start using it when they’re already sitting or staying. From there, use the command and encourage them to start moving towards you.
As always, rewards and praise will go a long way during training, so be prepared to fork over a few treats throughout the process, especially when they start getting the hang of it. Just remember, practice makes perfect.
Another example might be before entering (or exiting) a doorway in your home—or even your car—start familiarizing your pup with the word or command every time you and them go in or out.
Consistency and patience are the key here, as with all training, but the more you do it… the more likely they are to start understanding the command (and the rewards that might follow).
If you want to take it a step further, I’d suggest the kissing forehead method, if anything because it’s just simply adorable. As mentioned, we can train our dogs to do a lot of things, but this is such a heartwarming approach.
In any case, learning these commands is a great skill for your pup to possess and offers another simple reason to bond with your furry friend all the same. Sounds like a win-win, if you ask me.
But yeah, seriously… I wonder how I can teach this forehead kiss to my pup? Because I absolutely love it.
