Rescuing an animal can be a pretty emotional experience. It often takes time for these pets to feel safe and comfortable in a new environment, but when they finally do, the feeling of joy the moment provides is pretty hard to describe.
We’re seeing one of those moments unfold first hand in the heartwarming video below, as one rescuer’s new adopted kitty began purring in her arms for the first time. It’s a precious thing to witness, to say the least, proving that love and patience always wins.

Seeing any animal find joy in life after the odds were stacked against them will always provide a feeling of pure, genuine happiness. After Priscilla, the rescue cat in the video, lost her pet parent of 15 years, I’m sure it was no easy task trying to readjust. In fact, breaking a 15-year routine of any kind would be difficult, but if this video proves anything, it’s that there’s always hope.

The good news is, it looks to me like she’s in good arms now, and has a chance to live out the rest of her days in a loving, comfortable environment at this sanctuary. And judging by how calm and content she looks in this video, I think she’s starting to realize it herself. This precious clip serves as a reminder as to just how important animal sanctuaries are for all types of animals in need. Beyond the love they provide, they’re also major educators when it comes to cats with special needs and provide tons of important information when it comes to caring for these animals.
They prove that different doesn’t have to have a negative stigma attached to it. These cats want (and give) as much love as any others! It just takes a little extra educating to care for them at times.
At the end of the day, their compassion is simply unmatched. They aren’t just caring for these animals—they’re devoting a large chunk of their lives to make sure they’re happy, healthy and thriving as best as they can. And their efforts do not go unnoticed.
